Dr. Mike Veall, who holds degrees from McMaster, Western and M.I.T., is a Professor in the Department of Economics. Other places he has worked include Western University, Universität Mannheim, Queen’s University, the University of York in England, Australian National University, the University of Western Australia, the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, LMU in Munich, and the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls. He has been President of the Canadian Economics Association and is currently editor of the journal Canadian Public Policy/Analyse de politiques. He is teaching ARTSSCI 2E03 / Economics: Principles and Policy for the first time, using the same open source/online text that Dr. Jones used in previous years.
Dr. Veall’s research has covered many areas in econometrics, public economics, and public policy. A focus has been on income distribution, particularly the top end. He currently is Academic Director of the McMaster Research Data Centre and Director of the Productivity Partnership.
